| Researching WHEATCROFT carriers by canal,
rail,waggon,mail coach & vans circa 1790's-1960's
The company was started by brother's German and Nathaniel WHEATCROFT who worked in partnership and independently although always in conjunction with each other and with their sons. Based in Cromford & Buckland Hollow, Derbyshire, they owned a large number of boats. Interested in any reference to WHEATCROFT whether associated with the canals or not. Younger brother, Samuel WHEATCROFT and descendants, had a boat building yard at Whatstandwell Bridge on the Cromford Canal. |
